|IMPORTANT FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION FOR SENIORS PURSUING COLLEGE
||The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the first step for most students pursuing financial aid for college, now opens October 1st of each year.
Please use the documents below to get a start on the FAFSA and the Financial Aid Process.
There will be a KWHS Senior Financial Aid Night in the Fall Semester (Date TBD). In the interim, please review the documents below as well as the materials posted at the bottom of this page under Files > Class of 2017 folder > Senior Financial Aid Night

||All college-bound seniors receive notification of the opportunities, including weekly local scholarship updates starting in January of their senior year via Mrs. Townsend's Remind messages.

|Students with Homeless Status - In-State Tuition Benefits
||Students covered under the McKinney Vento Act
(Homeless Status) receive the benefit of in-state tuition and fee exemption to attend Florida's public universities, colleges, and technical schools/colleges.

BRIGHT FUTURES SCHOLARSHIPS IMPORTANT INFORMATION
For comprehensive Bright Futures information, please consult the Bright Futures website.
|CLASS OF 2017
||If you are a CURRENT SENIOR and believe you qualify for a Florida Bright Futures Scholarship, please make an appointment with Mrs. Townsend to complete the application starting in January 2017. Please do not complete it on your own. Technically, students have until June 2017 to make the qualifying test scores; however, it is highly recommended that Bright Futures eligibility requirements are met as early in the senior year as possible to confirm scholarships in advance of the end of the school year. Eligibility requirements are available here.
|CLASS OF 2018 and later
||Now is the time to work on GPAs, community service hours, graduation requirements, and SAT/ACT preparedness in preparation for Bright Futures eligibility.
COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAMS - ACT & SAT
|Current Sophomores and Juniors who recently received their PSAT scores - you will receive further instruction from Guidance in classroom visits this February in regards to your scores and next steps. In the interim, please view this document for your next steps.
